What it is
Renuvion uses a combination of helium plasma and radiofrequency energy beneath the skin to help tighten lax tissue. It is frequently combined with liposuction to address mild-to-moderate skin laxity. It is not a replacement for a surgical lift when skin laxity is significant.
Is this for you?
Renuvion may be a fit if you:
- Have mild-to-moderate skin laxity rather than significant excess skin
- Are considering or undergoing liposuction and want to address skin tone
- Are in good general health with realistic goals
- Are a non-smoker (or willing to stop)
Why Dr. Satey
- Board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery, with advanced fellowship training in cosmetic surgery.
- 2026 President of the California Academy of Cosmetic Surgery — the youngest surgeon to reach this statewide role.
- A national instructor who trains other surgeons in VASER liposuction and Renuvion techniques.
- An approach focused on natural-looking proportion: “Every patient has a natural silhouette that can be revealed, not created.”
What to expect
- Consultation. Dr. Satey evaluates your skin laxity and whether Renuvion — alone or with liposuction — is appropriate.
- Procedure. Energy is delivered beneath the skin to tighten lax tissue, under a tailored anesthesia plan, often alongside liposuction.
- Recovery. Often combined with the recovery of the accompanying procedure; your specific timeline is reviewed beforehand.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Renuvion a substitute for a tummy tuck or arm lift?
- No. When there is significant loose skin, an excisional procedure is usually more appropriate. Renuvion addresses milder laxity and is often combined with liposuction. Dr. Satey advises based on your skin.
- How long is recovery?
- It varies and is often tied to the procedure it accompanies (e.g., liposuction). Your specific timeline is reviewed beforehand.
- How much does it cost?
- Cost depends on your goals, the technique used, and what’s involved in your individual plan, so pricing is reviewed during your consultation. Financing options are available.
- Is it safe? Who performs the procedure?
- Every procedure is performed by Dr. Sean Satey, a fellowship-trained cosmetic surgeon who is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. Your candidacy, anesthesia, and risks are reviewed in detail at your consultation.
